MEET OUR PASTORS

DeVon & Tanya Williams are the lead Pastors at City Christian Center. DeVon first felt the call of God on his life at the age of 13 years old. His mother, Pastor Eunice Williams, was instrumental in his spiritual heritage; DeVon understood at a very early age that his voice would be for the nations, to deliver the message of God’s Truth to the people, a message of hope.  At age 19, he became an ordained minister in South Carolina where he was born and raised. Later that year, he joined the U.S. Navy where he started his first ministry aboard the USS HORNE. During this time, he had the privilege of preaching salvation to the lost and to see lives changed by the power of God in countries all over the world. After leaving the US Navy, He settled in San Diego, California, where he served as an assistant pastor for his local church. He married his wife Tanya in 1990, and together they have four wonderful children as well as three beautiful grandchildren: Cierra, Chloe, Vanessa, Marcellus, Olivia, Sofia, and Maddison.

Pastor Tanya was born in Memphis, TN, and at a very early age she relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana with her family. Shortly after high school graduation, she joined the U.S. Navy. It was during this time, while stationed in Japan, that God got a hold of her heart and she was soon introduced to Christ and the power of His love. Ever since then, Pastor Tanya has committed herself to being completely obedient to the Lord and is determined to live a life that makes a difference!
In 2001, God began a dream in DeVon and Tanya to pioneer a church in their city. Their vision was a center that could help meet the physical and spiritual needs of the community. A City’s Christian Center where people from all walks of life would feel welcomed and loved. And so, the dream for “The City” was born.
